Program Description:

EMBERS is a community economic development organization whose mission is to

create employment and economic opportunities for disadvantaged people in the

Downtown Eastside and inner-city communities.

EMBERS' operates a community enterprise incubation and business support program that works with residents and local organizations to help them develop, start and operate successful businesses in the Downtown Eastside, providing self-employment training and one-on-one business coaching to entrepreneurs from early business research through start-up and operations.

Our services include:

* Accessible, low cost self-employment training course. 12 weeks duration.

Offered three times a year.

  •  Workshops on financial literacy
  •  One-on-one business coaching
  •  Business resource centre with computers for clients to undertake business
  • research.
  •  Special projects (social enterprise development)
