Program Description:

Quest is British Columbia’s only food exchange program. Our innovative approach to rescuing food and reducing hunger involves collecting and distributing quality food – overstock, mislabelled, or near-expired products that would otherwise go to waste – and redirecting it to those in need via four food-assistance programs. By diverting food from the landfill and composting what can no longer be consumed, Quest also contributes to a healthier, greener environment while alleviating hunger and building community.

Reducing Hunger
The access to healthy, affordable food is unfortunately not a reality for all people. Quest provides a way for those in need to access nutritious food within their financial means, and have dignified shopping experience.

Building Communities
Quest partners with an increasing amount of local social service agencies to support their food assistance programs. Volunteer opportunities are available to individuals who want to give back to their communities, learn new skills for re-entering the job market, or gain experience and confidence after a period of absence from employment.

Helping the Environment
Quest also aims to reduce waste by composting, recycling and effectively reducing harmful greenhouse gas emissions to zero. In cooperation with Urban Impact and Smithrite, we are able to effectively implement recycling and composting programs.
