Creative Writing Workshops

Workshop for Arts and Culture, Other/General

Tuesday April 5, 2011
Every Tuesday
10:00a - 12:00p

The Downtown Eastside Studio Society is holding weekly writing workshops every Tuesday at the LifeSkills Centre. Our workshops give clients the opportunity to hone their writing skills while the Writing Program Director facilitates peer feedback in a safe, constructive environment.
Clients who attend the workshops will have the option to have a piece of their writing published in a compilation book. Once the writing has been published, clients have the choice of selling their work and retaining the profits to offset their financial needs.
The workshops at the LifeSkills Centre are open to everyone, and snacks are provided.

About us:

Dreamspeakers Film Festival provides a venue for Dreamtalkers and offers a unique exploration into Aboriginal cultures from all parts of the globe.

The Dreamspeakers Festival Society supports and educates the public about Aboriginal culture, art and heritage. It is a resource for Aboriginal filmmakers, for directors, scriptwriters, cameramen, technicians, actors, musicians, storytellers, artists and craftspeople. The Society is also a resource bank—a way to get in touch with Aboriginal filmmakers, performers and artists. And through Dreamspeakers, Aboriginal people receive training in arts, culture and festival operations.
