Goal FTE will guide and facilitate existing community-based training providers and educational institutions into a coordinated and integrated array of services. FTE will meet this goal by using industry-designed curriculum that is directly linked to employment opportunities for the long-term unemployed. FTE will: • Focus on employment. The pre-employment and skills training components prepare unemployed persons for a successful transition and retention into the local labour market. • Engage industry as an integral partner in the process, ensuring that the training components are designed to meet the employer needs. • Use existing community based services, trainers and educational institutions to provide the participant development and skills training needs. • Create a cost effective method for enhancing service delivery through integration and collaboration. This will be managed by a single source providing the Province and the local community a strong return on their investment.
