Water shoes are designed to serve a purpose, especially in water. Unlike other shoes, they are more durable when worn in areas that are dump or watery. They are therefore highly effective for people who spend a significant amount time in water or in wet surroundings.
These shoes vary depending on the material or the make. There are water sandals and regular water shoes. There are different ways of taking absolute care of these shoes. On that note in the following discussion, we are going to look at how to clean water shoes.
HOW TO TAKE CARE OF WATER SANDALS.
Water sandals are also differentiated but their make. They could be either synthetic or leather. These two types are taken care of in different ways. Great care should be taken so as to ensure durability and cleanliness of the shoe. How do we keep our water shoes absolutely clean? Here is how.
HOW TO KEEP LEATHER WATER SANDALS ABSOLUTELY CLEAN.
Leather sandals are cleaned differently as compared to synthetic ones. This is how we ensure absolute cleanliness of these types of water shoes.
Use leather cleaner first to get rid of dirt in your sandals. Then use leather conditioner to condition the leather. Conditioning should regularly be done to avoid physical damage to the leather.
After cleaning and conditioning, the shoes should be polished using a soft cloth.
HOW TO TAKE CARE OF SYNTHETIC WATER SANDALS.
For synthetic sandals, a stiff brush is used to remove the dirt. Then use water, mild soap and a soft-bristled to wash the sandals. Let them dry out in the sun.
HOW TO TAKE CARE OF REGULAR WATER SHOES.
When cleaning these shoes, the insole should be cleaned separately from the shoes.
For leather shoes, leather cleaner and leather conditioner should be used. First, clean with the leather cleaner then use the conditioner. Use a soft cloth to buff and polish the shoe. The shoe should be left to air dry afterward. When the material of the shoe is canvas or polyester, it should be scrubbed using a combination of water and mild soap. A soft bristled brush should be used when doing the scrubbing. The shoes should be later left out to air dry. In cases where shoes are worn daily or regularly cleaning should be done more regularly following this procedure suggested above. This helps to avoid bacterial infections from the shoes. When bacteria from feet and exposure from the feet combine, they cause odor. This is one more reason why the shoes should regularly be cleaned.
HOW TO TAKE CARE OF THE INSOLE.
The insole should be cleaned separately. It should be taken out before cleaning of the shoe starts. Use a mild detergent and lukewarm water to clean the insole. Avoid silicon-based products as such could damage your insole. After gently scrubbing with a soft brush, rinse the shoe carefully to remove the dirty water and soap. Allow them to completely air dry since using dump insoles could lead to damage the insole.
